The United Cape States Platform was formed as a unification entity where different political- or civil rights parties, organisations and groups that support the idea of sovereign independence can communicate, plan and prepare together towards the common goal of freedom for the majority groups in the Cape (the minority groups in terms of the total SA population demographics). 

Unlike the route chosen by some other united fronts, the United Cape States will strictly follow the international legal route of secession to avoid a repetition of the 1992 referendum where the citizens had no idea what they voted for. The United Cape States sees a referendum as conclusionary (where citizens know exactly what they vote for) and opposes the idea of a commentary referendum where current compromised political parties are given a mandate like in 1992 to decide the future of the people without their explicit consent.
