Economy & Trade

Establishing our economy on the principles of conservative libertarianism, the United Cape States (UCS) shall once again implement healthy Western economic practices, policy, and legislation minimizing international investor risk, to regain its rightful position in the global economy. Establishing our former first-world status at the southern tip of Africa, we will produce the building blocks for a growing, sustainable economy with equal opportunities for all UCS citizens, regardless of race or colour – opportunities that will consist of inter alia world-class education and sufficient job opportunities and driving towards zero unemployment.

The UCS will actively restore its first-world status and role in the global economy, focusing on developing our expat network, entering a sustainable export market by directly securing trade agreements with all countries sharing similar values.

The UCS will favour unrestricted trade but also recognizes the clear need to protect and nurture specific local industries. This protection is enforced by selected tariffs raised on specific imported goods and/or services, and the prohibition of importing certain goods (from countries known to dump surplus products) that potentially threaten local industry.

As a centre of high-technology design and manufacturing the UCS will also direct resources to specifically focus on (among others):

  • Renewable Energy
  • Space Industry
  • Electronics
  • Manufacturing
  • Military Equipment
  • Beneficiation of raw materials
At the same time we must not neglect those sectors where we are strong, such as:
  • Agriculture
  • Cinematography
  • Financial Services
  • Fishing
  • Ship repair
  • Tourism
Additional opportunities are, among others:
  • Oil & gas exploration
  • Servicing activities in Antartica
